Privacy Policy

This explains what TailTrials collects, why, where it lives, and how to get it back or get rid of it. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.

Who we are

TailTrials is operated as a sole proprietorship registered in Pakistan. Throughout this policy, "we" and "TailTrials" mean that business, and "you" means the person using the service.

What we collect

Account information

Your email address, and a password stored only as a secure hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and name from Google — we never receive your Google password.

Information about your pets and their trials

Whatever you enter into the app: pet names, species and breed, diet names and ingredients, daily entries recording what your pet ate, whether you stayed on the elimination diet, symptom and itchiness scores, dates, and any notes you write. If you use the PDF export, the veterinary practice details you enter for that document.

Payment information

We do not collect, see, or store your card details. Payments are handled entirely by Creem, who act as our Merchant of Record. We receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded, along with the associated account identifier so we can unlock your purchase.

Technical information

Standard server logs generated when you use the service, including IP address, browser type and timestamps. These exist for security and troubleshooting.

If you join the early access list

Only the email address you submit. It is used to tell you when TailTrials goes on sale, and nothing else.

Why we collect it

• To create and secure your account, and to sign you in
• To store and display your pets' trial records, which is the entire function of the service
• To generate the charts and PDF exports you ask for
• To confirm your purchase and unlock paid features
• To respond when you contact support
• To keep the service working and protect it from abuse

We do not use your data to train machine learning models, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Where your data is stored

Account and trial data is stored in a database hosted by Supabase, which provides our database, authentication and file storage. The website is hosted by Netlify. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.

Access is restricted at the database level so that each account can only read and write its own records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. It is shared only with the providers needed to run the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication and hosting of your account and trial records
• Creem — payment processing as Merchant of Record
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with a Google account
• Netlify — website hosting and early access form submissions

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

How long we keep it

Your account and trial records are kept for as long as your account exists, because the value of an elimination diet record is precisely that it goes back months. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data and trial records from our active systems, other than anything we must retain for legal or accounting purposes such as records of a payment.

Your choices

• Access — you can view everything you have entered inside the app at any time
• Export — the PDF export gives you a complete copy of a trial in a portable format
• Correct — entries can be edited, including past ones
• Delete — email us and we will delete your account and its data
• Object or restrict — if you are in a jurisdiction granting these rights, such as the UK or EU, contact us and we will honour them

Requests go to hello@tailtrials.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use only what is necessary to run the service. That means a session token so you stay signed in, and local storage used to keep the app working between page loads. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls that prevent one account from reading another's records. Passwords are stored as hashes and are never visible to us. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise — if we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you.

Children

TailTrials is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

International users

TailTrials is operated from Pakistan and our providers operate infrastructure in other countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in. By using the service you consent to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.
